How to Surrender a Private/Family-owned Ferret to Lakeroad Ferret Farm/Shelter, Inc.
Any intakes must first contact the Shelter via email (ferretfarm2@protonmail.com). If the Shelter is full, we offer a waiting list or we will help you place them with a family that is looking to adopt.
Requirements for surrendering a ferret:
1. The ferret(s) must be current on rabies and distemper vaccines and include documentation.
2. Items that belongs to the ferret(s) must come with them; cage, toys, blankets, etc.
3. A supply of food and water for the ferret(s) to last a minimum of 4 weeks. This is to give the ferret(s) time to acclimate to what is used at the Shelter.
