• Surrendered to the Shelter on January 21, 2022. They found a Forever Home March 9, 2022! |
January 23, 2022:
AM update: I thought the new three were going to give me trouble being put in the cage. They followed me back and forth when I was in the ferret room this morning. They have settled down pretty quickly, they found the hammock curled up and settled down.
PM update: The new 3 appear to have done well overnight, no food, no blankets came with them, that makes it hard for an easy transition to new everything in their lives. The landlord said by the look of what was on the floor of the apartment they were being fed grocery store multi colored cat food. By their weight and fur it does not appear they were left alone for long. They do not like being carried.
January 23, 2022:
The landlord was called by a tenant that there were 3 ferrets left in an empty apartment. The tenant that owned them moved out without notification leaving the free roam ferrets in the apartment to fend for themselves. He contacted us for help. The landlord did not know their names or ages. 2 boys. 1 Champaign 1 silver. A sable girl. I tucked them in the dining room for the night.
There was no documentation for them, the three were left abandoned in an apartment in Olean, New York. The landlord was alerted to the ferrets in an empty apartment, the owner moved out and left the ferrets behind, He contacted us to see if we could help. We did not have names at the time of surrender so we asked for suggestions, Dr. Sandra came up with Curly, Larry and Moe.
